COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
STAKEHOLDERS
We are committed to engaging landowners, public stakeholders, and members of the local community. We are focused on consistently informing our stakeholders of our activities and facilitating participation in a transparent engagement process. Guided by honesty, accountability, respect, and trust, our goal is to balance community concerns and perspectives with our approach to business, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
COMMUNITY FUND
Luna Solar+ is being constructed in a rural community. We know from our past projects that rural areas often lack funding for programs that are critical for the sustainability of the community. We intend to establish a community fund as an outreach tool to provide support within the community in order to demonstrate that the Project is a respectful and good neighbor, committed to the success of the community over the life of the Project.
We focus our donations within three funding priorities:
Community Development, Emergency Response, and Sustainability.
Indigenous Partnership
We respectfully acknowledge that the Luna Solar+ Project will be located on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). We will respect and honour their history, culture, and language in our project.
Luna Solar+ will require our General Contractors to be proactive and thorough in working with local Indigenous communities to offer employment opportunities and subcontractor services opportunities during construction and operations of the project.
